Auchingoul Cottage

· Came all the way from Arkansas, USA, for what amounted to a fantastic cottage in a great location. Our host could not have been more friendly and helpful with a tongue in cheek sense of humour. If we ever got the opportunity to come back to Scotland, I would certainly stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and if you ever find yourselves in USA/Arkansas, please ring us up!!! (Ed & Carolyn Bennett, Arkansas, USA)

· This is the fifth holiday cottage in which we have stayed in Scotland – and it is by far the best. We especially appreciated all the little extras and the friendly welcome. We have explored Aberdeenshire and its coast and we were particularly enchanted by the coastal village of Portsoy. We were also impressed by Dufftown and Tomintoul. The river walk was spectacular and the scenery stunning. (June & Brian Togneri, Northern Ireland)

· Lovely cottage, the best we have stayed in by far (in ten years), a pleasure to come back each day. Thank you. Will be back in October. (Anonymous)

· Lovely cottage. Home from home. Very comfortable and clean. Thank you very much, hope to return. (Frank & Karen Nathan, Lancashire)

· Lovely cosy cottage with everything needed for a very comfortable stay – Fantastic, many thanks. (Darren & Sandra, Kent)

· Its very nice place and thanks for everything, it was greatest time we had, I hope we can come back again and again. (Ali, Sirwan & Kian Farzad, Iraq & Iran)

· Thank you so much once again for making our stay with you so comfortable and welcoming and for taking us up and down the snowy track. Your care and kindness is very much appreciated. (Ann, Joe & Mark Eddy, Cornwall)

Bothy

· We stumbled upon this place in a fishing brochure, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Our evening walks along the river were magical. Thank you so much! (Daniel & Leanne, Oxford)

· Here for just one day/night – We’re staying on the Aswanley Estate from Sunday to Sunday. We consider ourselves very fortunate that the bothy was available on Saturday! Simply wonderful! Attention to detail and a clear sense of pride. We only hope our next seven days are as good….I wonder if we can cancel our booking and stay here? (Mr & Mrs Chard, Milton Keynes)

· Excellent hosts and accommodation. The scenery and the “local” whisky are out of this world! Cheers Carolyn & Koos. (Anonymous)

· Had a great time fishing. Cottage is charming. (Jersey)

· It was an unexpected surprise that we could stay here for a week in this cosy bothy. Carolyn and Koos you are both warm persons and we felt directly at home. It also was very special to visit the pig farm. Thanks for all and we wish you the best. (Couple, the Netherlands)

· Fantastic week, the bothy is cosy with everything you need. Hospitable hosts, wonderful scenery, loved the river. Thank you Koos and Carolyn. (Lyn Hodkinson, Australia)

· We wish you all the happiness and prosperity for 2009. We had a fantastic stay and to have the children’s grandparents up the road at your bothy, made our New Year (and Sam’s 9th birthday on 29th Dec). We have every intention of returning to this wonderfully appointed cabin (esp for the fishing), one of the most relaxing “get away” from it places I have ever stayed. Thank you very much. (Peter, Sarah, George, East Sussex & Samuel, Abigail, Aberdeen)

· Sitting on the deck admiring the view for the last time this week. What a place! Great attention to detail in the lodge and some lovely touches. You have good taste! Thank you, we will return. (Hayes, Dorset)

· Excellent – cannot fault the cabin in anyway. Top class accommodation in an idyllic location. We will certainly recommend it to others and hope to be back sometime ourselves. (Mackenzie & Elrick’s, Scotland)

· Had a lovely Xmas. Really peaceful & relaxing week. Very welcoming & homely. The snowy weather was just what we ordered. The cabin is in the perfect place, very beautiful. (Darren Young & Kim Gill, Aberdeenshire)

· Excellent stay, lovely warm reception and very helpful. Would love to come back in the summer. Great log cabin. (Ross & Reynolds, Huntly)

· Fantastic spot, website pictures don’t do this cabin justice, cabin 6star*. Very cosy with the log fire etc. Peace and quiet just what we were looking for. Will recommend to friends and family. (Eddie, Drea, Duncy, Liz, Glasgow)

· What a fantastic spot. We already knew the area as family live here but this is a well-kept secret. The log cabin must have the best position in the world!! So peaceful & beautiful. Have seen hares, deer, hawks and the first swifts!! Every morning we sat here not wanting to move. Will certainly come back and thank Koos and Carolyn for making our stay so memorable. Will tell all our friends, but then everyone will know about our secret place!! (Ken & Karen Newell, Dorset)

· Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The view is fabulous. Walking most enjoyable. The cabin was wonderful to stay in. Will love to visit this area again. This is an ideal holiday location, away from the crowds, yet close to many interesting places. One week was just not enough time. We loved the log cabin. This is a place we could live in year round. (David & Claire Dudley, Canada)

· Thoroughly enjoyed our week in your log cabin. Lovely and peaceful, superb views. First breakfast on the veranda was a real treat. Francine loved playing football on the lawn. Lots of bird life and enjoyed the walk through the trees and along the river. Lots of trips to the coast – Portsoy, MacDuff and Banff were nice. Lovely harbour at Findochty. A bit further afield Ballindalloch Castle was excellent. Thank you again. (Lance, Ali & Francine Gilmore, Shropshire)

· Fabulous cabin in a truly breathtaking spot above the river. It was a pleasure to stay here. Watched the otter yesterday – a unique experience. Many thanks for your hospitality and when we move back here in July, we’ll definitely be in touch. (Jo & david Adam, Leics)

· It was a pleasure to stay here. It is excellent log cabin. The most amazing place I have ever visited. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer. Will definitely recommend to our friends and will return again. (Vijay Kilkarni, Hertfordshire)

Swallow Cottage

· A first class holiday with a Mediterranean feel whether it be relaxing on the decking or dining in the courtyard. Koos and Carolyn have certainly made ‘Swallow Cottage’ into excellent holiday accommodation. (Jim & Sadie Paterson, Kirkcudbrightshire)

· Fantastic cottage, perfect for the kids, very peaceful. (Clement Family, Australia)

· Warm welcome, lovely spotless cottage in a lovely setting. Can’t wait to return and bring the family. (Janet & Jean, Berkshire)

· Arriving late on it was a real appreciative gesture to have the fire lit and milk in the fridge. Wonderful cottage – home from home. So many thoughts and personal touches to make for a comfortable stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. Carolyn and Koos were extremely welcoming and friendly and the surrounding countryside beautiful to walk the dog in. Thanks for everything. (Richard & Jenny Culley, Lancashire)
